Christoph Petermann, a bike traveller from Germany, anounced his coming already a couple of weeks ahead, because he realised that his bicycle was in the need of some serious loving. On this way he wanted to make sure, that we have all possibly required spare parts available and time to serve him.
Especially his wheels were asking for a complete rebuild.
He wanted to spend some time in Split to meet with friends and to take the opportunity for some classical touristic sightseeing. This gave us the necessary time window, to pay attention and to do all the required work on the bike.
Starting with building durable wheels for his purpose, which now also satisfy Rohloff and SON wheel building requirements.

Furthermore we made a complete Rohloff Speedhub annual inspection. And next to that, we also changed the shifting cables and hoses, maintained the internal shifting mechanism; replaced the chainring, the sprocket, the chain and brought the Rohloff chain tensioner back to its initial condition.

In the pictures you can see Chris' bike setup. He is happy with the weight distribution of his baggage and says: "I created a mix of bike packing and bike touring."

Happy bike traveller Chris Petermann after visiting the Bike Station in Split - Croatia.

"I found the Bike Station on the Rohloff website. You are listed there as Rohloff-Distributor for Slovenia and Croatia and you are the most southern Rohloff Servicepartner in this part of Europe.
I started my journey on April 22, 2022 in Germany, with the goal Nordkapp in Norway. After 2,5 months I was there. Then I rode throughout other parts of Scandinavia. With the ferry I reached the Baltics. I pushed the pedals though Poland towards Berlin. I rested some days there to spent time with my family and friends. Beginning of October I continued my tour in the direction of Czech Republic. I've seen Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia and then I reached Croatia. I have no fix time schedule for my bike tour.
In order to make my dream come true, I sacrificed my job and apartment amongst other things - but in return I am able to experience boundless feedom."

After Christoph left our Bike Station in Split, he headed towards Montenegro. His expedition may lead him to some place in Southern Africa.
