We upgraded this standard children bicycle (Trek MT 60) with solid and reliable parts.
The child who is riding this bicycle is 8 years old.
Reasons and targets to do the upgrade were:
- to get a bicycle which requires low maintenance effort for the parents and child
- perfect usability all year round - even under severe winter conditions
- to make a one(s in a life)time investment
- possibility to (re)use the bike parts in the future bicycles if needed (the child is growing...)

- "integrated" Ullmann Power-Station charge controller, hidden (better to say protected) inside the steerer tube

We upgraded this children bicycle during perfect Finnish summer 2011.

13 teeth sprocket mounted on Rohloff Speedhub and short chain tensioner Rohloff DH Shorty with long frame bolt.
Here you can see very well why the long bolt for Rohloff Speedhub chain tensioner mount is needed.
Cable ties are used instead of original clamps for mounting of torque arm quick release block.
We needed to be creative to reliably mount the fender.
In this picture you can see the USB jack of our Power Station to plug your mobile phone, GPS or other mobile devices and supply them with electric power produced by SONdelux hub dynamo.
See how close the crank passes the bicycle lock. It took the customer some effort to find a suitable lock which could be mounted on this frame.
