Package
After ordering a Rohloff Speedhub, you will receive a box like this.
The box includes everything to get the new gear in your bicycle.
You only need to order separately:
- needed amount of suitable 2.9er spokes and nipples
- 32 or 36 hole rim
- rim tape
- suitable 4-bolt brake disc, in case you don't use rim brake
- Chain Guide CC (@ the front chain ring and - if you are a tough rider, also on the Speedhub-body itself)
- Quick release axle (but you can use your old one)
If feels like Christmas when opening the gift package(s).
Here you can see the plastic bag (which contains user manual, warranty card, Rohloff Speedhub sticker and a red piece of paper, which says that the All Season oil is not yet inside the hub) and a transportation lock, which ensures that the hub stays in place during shipping.
After taking them out....
you can see another transportation lock below them and you will have the first look at your shiny Speedhub together with the twist shifter and the All Season Oil.
After taking out the cardboard you will see the long torque arm for the standard axle plate - in case you ordered your Rohloff Speedhub with this option.
The package contains a plastic bag full of mounting material. It depends on your Speedhub version what is inside the bag. This you have read when ordering in the product description of our web shop.
Usually there are all the small parts that you need to mount the Speedhub in your bicycle frame.
Rohloff Speedhub CC and CC DB versions come with the standard Rohloff chain tensioner.
A chain tensioner is necessary
- when the Speedhub will be mounted in a bicycle frame without sliding dropouts or eccentric bottom bracket.
- the chain wear compensation should be done "automatically".
- or when the the Speedhub will be mounted in a full suspension bicycle frame.
The scope of delivery also includes shifting hoses with integrated liners, shifting cables and sealed shifting cable housing caps.
