Versions

To allow the Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 to be mounted in most bikes, there are 

  • two axle types (CC quick release/TS bolt-on axle) 
  • two types of gear mech (internal-/external shifting mech) 
  • three types of axle plate (Standard, OEM, OEM2) 
  • two types of hub-cap (Standard or Disc Brake DB) 

available. 

All hubs are retrofitable for disc brakes. 

All hubs are available in silver (anodized), red (anodized) and black (anodized). 

All hub versions are available with a 36 hole hub shell. Please take care while/during ordering process! 
The 36-spoke hole versions are marked with "36" in the product title and the article number of these hubs start with a "6". 

The SPEEDHUB 500/14 is suitable for Tandem use. All versions of the Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 can be ordered for tandem use with longer (2.5m) Shifter cables.

Two different axle types are available:

CC: Cross Country

Hollow axle for use with a quick release lever (Quick release axle).

Like in picture 2 (black anodized Speedhub) and picture 3 (red anodized Speedhub)

TS: Threaded Spindle

Threaded axle with axle nuts M10x1.

The following part of the model code refers to additional hub specifications:

  • Picture: Rohloff Speedhub CC black anodised with OEM2 axle plate
  • Picture: Rohloff Speedhub CC DB red anodised with OEM axle plate


OEM2: OEM2 version
With CC OEM2 or TS OEM2 axle plate according axle type for frames with international standard (IS 2000) disc brake mounts (axle plate as shown in picture with the black Speedhub on the right).


T: Tandem version
With longer shifter cables for tandem use.


EX: External gear mech
With external gear mech (gear mech as shown in the picture with the red Speedhub on the right).


DB: Disc Brake
With a disc brake hub cap and external gear mech EX (hub cap and gear mech as shown in picture with red Speedhub on the right).


OEM: OEM version (original equipment manufacturer)
With CC OEM or TS OEM axle plate according axle type only for frames with Rohloff OEM dropouts (axle plate as shown in picture on the right).

All Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 versions are available in three different colours:
